Commodores Netball Club

Commodores Netball Club

Has been part of the netball landscape in the North Harbour region for over 40 years. Our colours are black, gold yellow, and white. We are affectionately referred to as Commies.

Setup by Marcia Hardcastle in the 1980's, the club has grown from strength to strength and has played a major part in the development of many players - some of whom have moved on to greater things not only in the game, but also in the sporting arena and wider community. The most notable star is Marcia's own daughter Sonya who debuted as a Silver Fern in 1992. Other players have represented in the now redundant Northern Force team and as training partners for the now Northern Mystics.

Clubs from within the North Harbour area have a duty to ensure that every netball participant (player, coach, umpire, administrator, supporter) can enjoy the sport to the maximum, at whatever level they choose to aspire or participate. We see our role as growing and developing the game, providing a great and positive experience and perhaps most importantly, providing strong leadership dealing ethically and earning the respect of all of our members. If we can provide the ideas, opportunities and inspiration for our girls to all pull together; our Club will be stronger. This is the true spirit of the Commodores Netball Club.

In recent times, our Club has boasted 9 teams. The top tier teams 1 to 4 have consistently finished well within the competitive Premier grades of the Netball North Harbour (NNH) competition with the top team steadily dominating a top 2 finish. The players from within these teams demonstrate a high level of skill and passion. Their skills, experience and commitment shown in the way they engage with the Club ensures continuity and results for all involved.
