Dannevirke JAB Policy for Representative Player Eligibility


The intent of this policy is to ensure all those who wish to play for Dannevirke JAB representative teams have clear communication around eligibility beyond the general standards set by the NZRU and our Provincial Union.


This Policy sets out the criteria for player eligibility for Dannevirke JAB representative Team/s


During the season in question

  • Players must attend a Dannevirke JAB affiliated primary school.


  • Players must be of the appropriate age for the team in question.


  • Players must be of the appropriate weight for the team in question (if applicable).


  • Players must have an active NZ Rugby Junior Registration.


  • Players must signal their commitment to play for the Dannevirke JAB Representative Team/s in question by no later than the 4 of June of each year (Queen Birthday).


  • Following the above date players that trial and/or play for any representative rugby union team of another provincial union or for any rugby union team which a provincial union deems to be a representative team will not be considered eligible for Dannevirke JAB Representative team.


  • Any eligibility consideration for players that have registered at a Dannevirke JAB affiliated primary school after the above date will be voted on by the Dannevirke JAB committee.


  • Any eligibility consideration for players that register an active NZ Rugby Junior Registration after the above date will be voted on by the Dannevirke JAB committee.


This Policy was adopted by Quinn Olsen (Chairman), Seconded by Grant Irwin (Committee member) and voted in by the whole present committee on the Tuesday 18 of July 2017 during their monthly meeting.
