Our Purpose
To provide a safe, enjoyable football experience for the ages 5 to 8 which will provide them with a technical base, connect them with our ECB community and inspire a love for the game!
Training Day
This year First Kicks Grade 5/6s and Fun Football Grades, 7 and 8 will receive two contacts per week, one game day experience (weekend) and one training day experience (week day). We have decided to formalize our training program to better support the development and enjoyment of our young players.
The training day will have a designed curriculum centered on our “FUNdamentals - ball mastery, movement competency and love for the game! This Station rotation style training session will be split into skill games and mini games to create a fun development based football experience.
Game Day
The Game Day will be an inter club based program lead by volunteer game day facilitators. Each Game Day will consist of 3x 12 minute games This year’s program will see some changes around rules of the game, for example a power play where the a team removes a player if they are winning by more than 3 goals( this changes a challenge point for all players to support their development on game day). Also the defending team will drop to half way on a restart to encourage playing from the back.
Coaches
Coaches will be either qualified experienced coaches, keen volunteers wanting to begin or continue their coaching journey or players from our Men’s, Women’s, U17 and U15 programs. This experience along with club based coach education will allow us to grow our East Coast Bays Coaching Network. Coaches will be provided with each session plan for each training day.
Festivals
East Coast Bays will host a number of club based festivals, these will take place in the school holidays and after the football season in term 4. These festivals will involve things such as multi-sport, 3v3 world cups, 1v1 game day and Futsal.
