SENIOR
INFORMATION

This information is designed to help you if:

  • You are shifting to Wellington and want to find a club.
  • You are returning to softball after a break.
  • You are wanting to get into coaching a club team.

Grades are available for serious competition as well as grades for more social players and many age grades from Tiny Tots (Under 5's) through to Under 19's

The Premier Competition is our top level of play and players contribute to the NFC and age group teams.  It is a high standard of play that is played in an Intercity Competition - Wellington and Hutt Valley.

The Senior Competition grades are social grades that range from competitive grades down to more social fun and new to the sport levels.

Contact the club and don't be afraid to ask questions about coaches, club activities or any of the things that are important to you.

It is important to find a club where you will feel comfortable and where you can play at the level that willl help you develop your play.

And you want to play for fun and exercise you should look for a club which offers more social teams in senior grades. Always remember that when you are joining a club you are making a commitment to be part of a team for the whole season.

Ask questions about teams and club activities or any of the things that are important to you. The club may require you attend trials. Don't be put off as it is a good way to get a feel for how the club operates and to work out if it is what you are looking for. If you want to play a more social grade make it clear from the start so that the club can place you in the right team.

And you want to play with a group of friends you could approach a club and ask to enter a team under their umbrella. You will likely be required to pay their fees and will be subject to any rules they have.

If you are new to Wellington:

Remember you will need to obtain clearance from an out of region Association before you play in Wellington Softball Association.  Refer to the WSA By-laws for more detail.
