ABOUT
CONSTITUTION, POLICIES & BY-LAWS

The WSA Constitution has undergone a revamp and is located in the list of documents to the right along with the Special General Meeting Minutes approving the changes.

Under the Incorporated Societies Act 1908, an incorporated society must have a set of rules that at a minimum sets out:

  • the society’s 'objects' (its purpose)
  • its membership
  • how meetings are held
  • the appointment of officers
  • use of the society’s ‘common seal’
  • how the rules can be altered
  • the control of funds and property, and
  • how to wind up a society.

In conjunction with Gibson Sheat, the WSA Executive undertook a review of the Consitition to ensure it was fit for purpose.  This resulted in significant changes being made to it.

The WSA Playing Rules and By-Laws relate to how the competition itself is run (including the registration of players and code of conduct) rather than how the Association is run.
