Alyssa Rosson
Captain of Team 1 for 2019. Alyssa also known as Leasha (Skinny), is our amazing Goal Defence, she is a commited and loyal member to our club. Alyssa is also the Treasurer and started playing for Featherswton in 2018, she always leads by example and resides in Upper Hutt. This young lady travels over the Remutaka's for practices on Wednesday's and to the Competition games in Masterton on Saturdays.

BEST TRAIT: Amazing elevation and is the fittest in the squad.

Stacey Tekira
Vice-Captain for Team 1 2019, always leads by example and on time to all games. Stacey has the most amazing nature, very kind and treats her peers with lots of respect. Stacey travels from Upper Hutt to play for this club and we are honoured to have her play for this club. Stacey is our player, come chef, come baker. Always willing to help and it wouldn't be the same without her. Another committed player who has amazing potential, Stacey is the Centre and her speed on the court makes her great a the Centre position. Stacey also fills in at the Goal Attack position, very capable of shooting. Stacey is the eldest player in Team 1 at 31, but plays like she could be in her early 20's.
BEST TRAIT: Always talks and might be the shortest in team but her agression makes her outstanding.

Clare Uberg:
Clare is Goal Keep for Team 1 and is very capable to play in any position on court. Clare joined the Featherston Netball Club in 2019 and resides in Lower Hutt. Clare has not played netball since intermediate but her skills do not show this. She is an excellent Goal Keep with amazing defensive skill, an outstanding defence player who comes around the player with the outstide arm and has a fantastic reach on the ball. Clare is 5.9 and a half in height and she great elevation, she gets a lot of intercepts and rebounds. Clare and Leasha are the defence in Team 1 and are both an amazing team in that circle. Well done ladies.
BEST TRAIT: Her jump and reach. Committment in the jump and reach is awesome. Well done Clare

Joanna Wong Pown
Jo is new to the Featherston Netball Club in 2019 and is the Wing Defence for Team 1, and she has made huge impact as the Wing Defence. The Wing Defence has one of the most important positions on court, and Jo does it well. Jo has never played at this level, however she is one skilled lady. She is on the Wing Attack and picks up lots of intercepts. Well done Jo, keep up the great work.
BEST TRAIT: Hounding the WA and shadowing. Lots of intercepts and backing up the attack down the court.

Lakyn Irving
Lakyn is the Wing Attack for Team 1 and started playing for Featherston in 2018. Lakyn is one of the best WA's I have seen in a long time. The last time Lakyn played was at college. Lakyn comes from Lower Hutt and has shown she can also play defence. Lakyn picks up a lot of intercepts, has fantastic elevation and feeding the circle is excellent. Last season Lakyn won the Best Young Player, which is the award for outstanding players 21 and under. This is the ILI/VAN DE LOO trophy. We look forward to how much Lakyn can do this season. An outstanding player with lots of talent.
BEST TRAIT: Excellent on attack and defence. Silent but lethal.

Karlene Taylor (Karz)
Karlene is the Goal Attack for Team 1 and joined the Featherston Netball Club this season. What a big asset Karz is to this club. One lady who has the most amazing smile and always smiles. You are a rock Karz, great on attack and a very mobile GA. Karz has played in defence, however we placed her in the GA as there is height on both ends of the court. Karz gets lots of intercepts and rebounds. Karz has taken all that she learns from training onto the court and does it well. Karz originally came from Wellington and stopped playing due to a knee injury. However, this seaosn is doing amazing. Keep up the work Karz.
BEST TRAIT: Smley and never looks upset. Love it.
Age 33 DOB: 11/03/1986
Shaya Smith
Shaya is the Goal Shoot for Team 1 and joined the Featherston Netball Club in 2017, she started off as the GK, but this year we have placed her in the GS position. Shaya is not only tall, but very aggressive under on the rebounds and she holds her space well. Last season Shaya injured her knee and thankfully it was not too bad, however it is now weak and can be a dampener on her game. Shaya has a high shooting statistic and continues to shoot well. Both Shaya and Karz work well in the circle and are still learning to play together in the circle. Shaya is improving all the time and has been a player we cannot do without in the shooting cirlcle. Shaya resides in Stokes Valley and is committed to travelling to Featherston for trainings and Masterton for the games.
Rhys and Shaya have three children Azarias, Nhala and Tukia, who are our biggest supporters this year, Rhys is also the coach for Team 1 and we thank him for that he does.
BEST TRAIT: A strong rebounder and high shooting statistics.

Jana Havler
Jana comes from the Wellington regiion and has made the move to Featherston, she last played outdoor netball at college and has always played indoor netball. Jana is a midcourt player and has loads of energy, she will be seen playing in the midcourt for the rest of the season. What an a fantastic player who has gelled well with the ladies in Team. Welcome to the Featherston Netball Club and you are now part of the Featherston Netball family. We look forward your huge presence in the team/club.
BEST TRAIT: A very strong attacking player and just as amazing on defence.

Kendra Smith
Kendra plays the all round position in Team 1, she travels from Kapiti to play and has been a member of the Featherston Netball Club since 2017. A player who has excellent communications skills and is a very supportive player who gives it her all. Kendra is part of our fundraising committee, who has motivated herself and has contacts and kindly managed to get Hunting & Fishing Masterton on board to sponsor the Player of the Day awards for 2019. Kendra is an excellent mid court player and is team player who loves to get involved. Thank you for all your support and hard work.
BEST TRAIT: A loud and proud player who communicates well and does all she can for communities. Kendra has been voted on as the Interim President for the Featherston Rugby Club committee and we congratulate her.

Coach - Rhys Tekira
Rhys is an ex New Zealand outdoor netball player and has also played top level basketball and indoor netball. We are very honored to obtain his services as the coach for Team 1. Rhys travels from Stokes Valley to take trainings on Wednesday nights and again on Saturday for the competition games in Masterton. Rhys and Shaya are very special members of the Featherston Netball Club and continue to support in so many ways.
BEST TRAITS: A very confident umpire and coach, always does over and above for the club.
***FEATHERSTON TEAM 2***
Pai Smith
Pai is the captain of Team 2 and plays in the shooting circle both at GS or GA. Pai is a very committed player who travels from Kapiti to be part of Team 2. Pai is part of the committee and also the Vice President for the Featherston Rugby Club. She is an obliging player who commits herself to whatever position she is asked to play. This season Team 2 is a social team and are playing in the Senior Reserve grade in the Wairarapa Competition. Pai has been playing for Featherston since 2017 and is a very supportive and important member of the club.
BEST TRAIT: Long distance shooter and one handed too. Very old school shooting style but she is also consistent.

Georgie Monigatti
Georgie has been playing since 2018 and last year she was the winner of the 'MOST IMPROVED' award. Georgie is a team player who always gives her best. A good defensive player who is very fit and to get fit she runs in marathons. Georgie is an asset and one of the most consistent players in Team 2. This season she has improved and trying other psostions, she has played an excellent game at GD.
BEST TRAITS: Always listens and always asks questions. A great thinking player who always gives 100% plus.
