Reps is a great opportunity for players wanting to develop their netball, challenge themselves against some of the best in NZ, and become a part of our proud reps legacy.
How do I register to trial?
Complete the online registration form on this page before 5pm Monday 20 April. Please ensure you are available for ALL tournament dates before registering. Follow the GNC Facebook page for further announcements.
How do I qualify for representative trials?
Players must be secondary level and registered to GNC playing for a school or clubteam in the current season.
The following explains the age criteria for all age groups to be considered for selection -
U16 Age Group (Female) - - Must be under 16 on 1 January in the year in which they aim to represent and over 14.
U18 Age Group (Female) - - Must be under 18 on 1 January in the year in which they plan to represent.
GNC aligns with Netball NZ recommendations that players trial in their age group.
Secondary players that are U14 are advised to take part in our Emerging Reps Programme https://www.sporty.co.nz/gisbornenc/Player-Development/u14-emerging-rep-programme
What if I can't make the trial dates?
We encourage you to attend all trial dates so that you get the best chance to be seen. If you are unable to attend any part of the selection process you may request a dispensation. This must be received in writing to GNC gncyouthdevelopment@outlook.com stating your reasons why dispensation is being requested. GNC will evaluate each dispensastion request on its own merits and in its sole discretion grant or disallow the dispensation request.
Bereavements, injuries, illness, national or representatitive netball/other sporting committments may be considered reasonable grounds for dispensation. Requests for dispensation due to injury/illness must include a medical certificate. The outcome of any dispensations will be communicated via email. Trialists must be registered to be considered for dispensation.
Rep Camp
All Selected Players are required to attend the Rep Camp Saturday 3 May. Whanau are encouraged to attend for the first hour.
What are the costs for the representative programme?
Fees vary between teams based on the number and location of tournaments they are participating in. (Tournaments requiring flights incur a greater fee than those travelling by van). The Centre will provide an estimated cost once all expenses have been calculated. GNC will actively seekfunding towards reps and provide teams with fundraiser opportunties to help reduce player fees.
When are trainings?
Trainings will be Monday evenings from 5:30 to 7:30
GNC is excited to announce a new initiative for our Under 14 Players. Click on the U14 Emerging Reps Programme Flyer to find out more.
