Greerton Pony Club

Costs and Funding Raising

Costs

As with any club, it costs money to run the organisation.

Annual subsidies are paid which cover instruction at rallies, club administration costs and Tauranga Pony Club Levies.

The current fees are:

$200 per rider which is required to be paid on registration night or at the first rally attended.

Rally shirts are $37.

Helmet covers and other items are available from the Tauranga Saddlery.

Fund Raising

In order to keep the subs to a minimum there are several fundraising events throughout the year. Parents and riders are expected to help out wherever possible to ensure these events are a success:

Gymkhanas and Other Riding Events – these are the mainstay of our organisation; they provide a significant source of funding but are often a lot of work too.

Pony Rides – the Tauranga A&P association hold their annual A&P show at the Greeton racecourse and we as a club provide pony rides. This is a well run and lucrative activity that requires a minimum of 8 suitable ponies/horses and many helpers. In the past we have also been approached by schools to run pony rides at their gala days.

Barbeque – we own a BBQ and have this service available at many events. Occasionally we also hire a coffee machine.
