GRAEME SCHIMANSKI MEMORIAL
In June 2021 the Hawera BMX Club lost our longest serving (27 years) Club President - BMX Stalwart - BMXNZ Commissaire Graeme Schimanski. Graeme was a Life Member of the Hawera BMX Club and BMX New Zealand and a constant around the BMX tracks in New Zealand.
His love and passion of the sport meant many long hours maintaining the Hawera BMX track and facilities we have available in South Taranaki today. He loved seeing kids on bikes having fun!
The Hawera BMX Committee have created a fitting Memorial stone to Graeme and in his honour hold a BMXNZ NQM event each November to celebrate a special BMXNZ stalwart.
Our Committee and Club will continue to work hard to ensure we have the best BMX club in New Zealand - as per Graeme's wishes !!
