FAQS

Q- How do I enrol my child/children?

A- We use Sporty for our registrations. Here is the link: www.sporty.co.nz/hnsc

Q- What are the season dates?

A- Term 4 runs from Tuesday 3rd December until Tuesday 17th December. The season resumes from Tuesday 21st January and should run until the early to mid March (date TBC).

Q- How will my child find out what group they will be swimming in?

A- On Tuesday 3rd December all children will arrive at 6:00pm and be assessed by our coaches. They will leave the session knowing what time their lessons are and who their coach will be. Younger swimmers will have lessons between 6:00-6:30pm or 6:30-7:00pm and the higher ability swimmers will swim for the full hour.

Q- Are lessons both on Tuesday and Thursday?

A- Yes, you get two lessons a week!

Q-Can I start later in the season?

A- Yes, you can register at any stage throughout the season. However, the club membership fees remains the same.

Q- How can you do the lessons so affordably?

A- We are a non-profit organisation and couldn’t do it without our fantastic volunteers. We want to make swimming accessible to all children! For this reason we hope you understand we do our best to reply to emails and messages in between our normal jobs.

Q- Can my 4 year old get lessons?

A- Sorry, but for safety reasons and coach to child ratios we can only offer our program for 5+ year olds. But please do sign them up as soon as they turn 5!

Q- How do you announce if the pool is closed and lessons are cancelled?

A- If we have to cancel lessons for safety reasons or due to a council closure we will announce this on our Facebook page (Havelock North Swimming Club). Please follow us to receive these announcements!

Q- When does the season end?

A- We aim to finish our season in the middle of March but this all depends on the warmth of the pool and when the council closes the facilities. We will communicate when we are finishing when we know!
