2019 NZPCA GOLD LONG SERVICE COACHING AWARDED TO ROBYN HODDER
Congratulations Robyn on receiving the Long Service Coaching Award and the Volunteer Recognition Award at the NZPCA AGM/Conference in July. Thoroughly deserved, congratulations!
Gold Long Service Coaching Citation - Robyn Hodder’s involvement in Pony Club started when her daughter Natalie became a member of the Ohakune Branch of the Waimarino Pony Club in September 1993. Setting up at rallies, facilitating working bees and fundraising activities, and volunteering in many roles on Waimarino Pony Club competition days were all part of Robyn’s natural character. She soon started coaching and is now a ‘C’ level ECTP Coach and a ‘C’ Certificate Examiner.
Robyn has a real affinity with the young riders and has a gentle manner which endears the riders to her. She managed the Waimarino Pony Club Show Hunter team in 2009 and the Games Team to the Zone 2 Quality Presentations Games Final in 2015.
For 10 years Robyn was the Ohakune Branch Secretary and was the Treasurer for longer, has been Treasurer of the Waimarino Pony Club and is the current District Commissioner, a position she has held for more than fifteen years. Robyn has also had a huge involvement with the King Country Area Pony Club, being Area President for the past thirteen years and she has facilitated all discipline trials and Zone 2 Finals when King Country hosted during those years.
Robyn is a volunteer in the true sense of the word and can be relied upon to help in any situation, while also holding down a full-time job.

Congratulations Evelyn on your NZPCA Gold Long Service Coaching Award. 42 years of coaching for the one Branch and Club is an awesome effort.
Evelyn began her involvement in Pony Club 42 years ago with the Ohakune Branch of the Waimarino Pony Club.
Evelyn’s interest in riding began in England when at a very young age she rode a Shetland pony and continued riding including hunting until she emigrating to New Zealand in 1960.
Evelyn's daughter Heather gained 'B' Certificate, and her daughter Connie was also a member of the Ohakune Branch attaining 'C' Certificate. Her son Patrick was an accomplished rider also earning 'C' Certificate, before concentrating on skiing. Subsequently he was named New Zealand Disabled Skier of the Year and New Zealand Skier of the Year in 1994.
Evelyn has over the years attended many coaches courses and Top Rides, including as a rider. She has been a Head Coach, District Commissioner, B level examiner, a coach of games teams and organiser of many events and competitions including tetrathlons. She was invited to be a pilot coach for ECTP and attained H level, is a qualified ECTP Coach and Assessor at D level.
Evelyn’s involvement today is as strong and enthusiastic as it was in 1976.
