Cricket was first played by a Lincoln team in 1867 in a match against neighbouring Prebbleton with the club officially formed the following year in 1868. However, although cricket was regularly played in Lincoln ever since then, the club itself went into recesses and reformations several times until it's 1947 reformation from which the club has been in continuous operation ever since. Lincoln Cricket Club prides itself on it's players learning, improving and enjoying their game.
The junior section of the club has 19 teams and is run by a great group of volunteer coaches and administrators.
The youth section is part of the Lincoln High School Lions.
The senior section has Premier & Senior A teams playing in the Canterbury Country competitions and seven T20 teams in the Selwyn T20 Competition.
