WHOOPS!!

For a still unexplained reason the Sporty notice sent to members this morning on cellphones has elements of the message with a black background - not helpful for reading! This is not a problem if reading on the Sporty App or club website.

The shaded parts were cut and pasted from earlier Sporty Notices - hopefully the Sporty site admin. will be able to address why this has happened on this one occasion. All being well this quickly retyped version of the Notices and Calendar will be readable to all. If not all is perfect or there are any errors in retyping the corrections will be made in the next edition - probably next week.

Ferrymead Heritage Park

Cashmere Club departure - 10.30am

Bring your picnic lunch - and a mug for your mulled wine! For the MGs there is no entry fee - but we must enter together.

We have our own hall if the weather is inclement.

It is the Ferrymead Heritage Park Open Day so there could well be good numbers coming to see the Park activities operating.

West Melton Observatory. 12 places left.

A few years back we were hosted but the Canty. Astronomical Society - an evening greatly enjoyed. A dark winter evening of looking through powerful telescopes and being informed about what we were looking at. This year another opportunity - subject to weather.

Only 12 places left - email intention to attend to Bob a.s.a.p. to ensure your place. $15 for each adult and $10 for a child - this money/cash will be collected on the evening.

SUN. 23rd AUGUST - VCC Daffodil Run

Nationwide classic and vintage car event organised by the Vintage Car Club NZ. A series of short & long runs starting at 5 locations (below), all finishing at the VCC grounds at McLeans
Island. Runs leave each location between 10.00 and 10.30am. Afternoon Public Display at McLeans Island from 12.00pm. Coffee available at start points & BBQ lunch can be
purchased at VCC Grounds. $10 Vehicle Entry – all fees donated to the local Cancer Society.

MMM Run - 'Over-nighter' to Hanmer

-staying at the Drifters Inn Hanmer Springs 03 315 7554.

$160 - $180 per room. Only 3 rooms now remain available - and only until the end of July (i.e. early next week).

Book directly with Andy at the motel and identify as MG Car Club members.

On this occasion those on the run will all be staying at the Drifters Inn as we will be dining-in, using their lovely lounge with open fire.

Simple lunch of soup, roll, tea and coffee en route at the Greta Valley Tavern. Mulled wine on arrival in Hanmer and takeaway evening meal (probably fish and chips, coleslaw) included in the cost of $40p.p. (t.b.c.).
