Artistic club training times

The below classes are restricted to Mt Wellington Artistic competitive training teams. If you are looking for our learn to skate sessions, visit our Learn To Skate or Term based class pages.

CLUB PROGRESSION

All of our skaters start with our Saturday or Monday Learn to Skate classes. Once they have reached a certain skill level, we will invite them to join our competitive classes. 

Information on each class and the associated costs are listed below.

AMBER (BEGINNER GRADE)
SATURDAYS 9.30am - 10.15am during school term

  • First step after Saturday or Monday Learn to Skate. 
  • Focus on beginner competitions to beginner 3 and Whetu
  • Additional supervised training on Mondays 5.30pm - 6.15pm 
  • Includes Saturday 9 - 9.30am offskate jumps & spins

$175 per term (payable in advance)


RUBY (REGIONAL GRADE)
MONDAYS 4.45pm - 5.30pm

  • Next step from Amber class with a focus on novice competition grades at local and regional competitions
  • Working on medal tests 1 & 2 
  • Lessons continue through the school holidays to provide continuity
  • Includes offskate training to help develop strength and flexibility as well as on & off skate jump and spin training
  • Private lessons during school holidays to work on routines

Extra training opportunities: 

  • Monday 5.30pm - 6.15pm supervised training (with Amber, Sapphire & Opal)
  • Saturdays 9 - 9.30am offskate jumps & spins
  • Sundays 9am - 10am jumps & spins (offskate and onskate)

$260 per quarter (payable in advance)


SAPPHIRE (NATIONAL GRADE - TUATAHI/ KAIAKA)
MONDAYS 6.15pm - 7pm

  • Competitive level focusing on competing at Areas and Nationals in Tuatahi and Kaiaka Grades
  • Working on medals 2 & 3 (qualification medals for Nationals)
  • Music appropriate for grade (in style and length)
  • Choreography & content sheets appropriate for grade
  • Private lessons during school holidays to work on routines
  • Dedicated coaching support at competitions in marshalling
  • Lessons continue through the school holidays to provide continuity 

Extra training opportunities:

  • Mondays 5.30 - 6.15pm supervised training (with Amber, Ruby & Opal)
  • Saturdays 9 - 9.30am offskate jumps & spins
  • Sundays 9am - 10am jumps & spins (offskate and onskate)

$260 per quarter (payable in advance)


OPAL (NATIONAL GRADE - MASTERS)
MONDAYS 6.15pm - 7pm

  • Competitive level focusing on competing at Areas and Nationals at a Masters Grade level
  • Working on medals 2 & 3 (and / or qualification medals for Nationals)
  • Music appropriate for grade (in style and length)
  • Choreography & content sheets appropriate for grade
  • Private lessons during school holidays to work on routines
  • Dedicated coaching support at competitions in marshalling
  • Lessons continue through the school holidays to provide continuity

Extra training opportunities:

EMERALD (WORLD SKATE GRADES)
WEDNESDAYS 4pm - 7pm, FRIDAY 6am - 8am, SATURDAY 8am - 9.30am, SUNDAY 8 - 10am

  • Our top level skaters already working at a national and international level
  • Private lessons based by arrangement with coaches during the set times only

 Rink fees will be payable per quarter in advance based on the sessions skaters select to attend each week.

Private lesson fees to be paid directly to the coach.
