Junior League

Nelson Heat has coached many eager juniors in recent years who have come through the teeball programme and are ready for the extra excitment and challenges that real baseball provides.

In our Junior League, the players have a focus on hitting a moving ball and increasing their throwing ability and glove work. And of course an introduction to pitching is a staple of the players' development.

Junior League includes players up to 14U - Ages 10-14.

Training & Games

Trainings are at Champion Green (behind Garin College)

Tuesdays, 5:30-7pm

Games: 1pm on Saturdays. The season will culminate in a National Club Tournament that Nelson Heat will send teams to. More details to come during the season.

The subscription fee for the entire season (October-April) for junior baseball is $85.

Teams

The national participation framework allows teams in 12U, 13U and 14U age groups.

Once all registrations are in each year, the Club will determine which teams in what age groups it will form.

Note: All ages quoted mean the player must be that age as at 31 August 2023 to play in that grade. However dispensations are available for local play from the Association if the coach thinks the player needs to play up or down a grade to allow for the players ability and their safety and the safety of other players.

There are no dispensations allowed for national tournaments.
