Northern Region Football is New Zealand's largest football Federation, encompassing the Far North, Northland, and Auckland. 


Together with our 72 member Clubs, we provide competitions and opportunities to over 37,800 registered players and thousands of coaches, referees, administrators and volunteers. We run over 16,000 games a season.


We support football/futsal from community levels through to the LOTTO Northern Regional Premier League, which also includes teams from the Waikato and Bay of Plenty.

Girls & Womens Lead

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role

The Girls’ and Women’s Football Lead role has been created to capitalise on the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 to create positive change for all girls and women, across Auckland and Northland.

The critical role will further develop and deliver against NZ Football’s “Legacy Starts Now” program to increase the number of girls playing football, through formal football club structures, informal opportunities as well as the numbers of women and girls in leadership roles across football. 

Out ideal candidate will have: 

  • At least 5 years’ experience in sport development at all levels, with particular focus on Sport administration
  • Experience in effectively leading and implementing Girls & Women’s programmes and development opportunities.
  • Evidence of successfully and positively working with diverse stakeholders including regional sports bodies/clubs, coaches, parents, players, volunteers, etc. 
  • Knowledge of sport development with a strong understanding of the NZ context
