Our kākahu was never created to represent only one culture. It was designed to bring our Māori identity together with the many cultures within our club.
We had Māori, Samoan, Tongan, European, Asian, Indian and Brazilian players, along with whānau who carried Irish and Scottish heritage. At times, we looked like our own little United Nations—but when we put on the same kākahu, we became one team.
No matter where we came from, we shared the same goal: to take the field, enjoy the game, support one another and have fun.
Each season, we continue to develop and upgrade our kākahu so it grows alongside our club. The design may change, but what it represents will always remain the same—many cultures, one whānau, one team.
