Croquet is a fun and competitive sport, suitable for people of all age groups. The game does not require strength and agility but does require coaching and practiced technique to play well.

Croquet is played on grassed lawns using a croquet mallet. Croquet involves two codes Association croquet and Golf croquet. Both codes are played at the Orewa Croquet club.

Orewa Croquet club requires prospective members to undertake coaching, before being invited to become members. Coaching will provide the basic skills to understand and enjoy the game and to reach an adequate standard to begin club play.

Coaching of prospective members is at no charge. At the conclusion of three free lessons, a membership form will be provided by one of the coaching team.

There is also a nominal charge for club play days of $2.00 per person.

Equipment

The club provides the complimentary use of club mallets, for new members, for a period of up to six months. After that time, members are expected to buy their own mallets.

Players are required to wear flat soled footwear that will not damage our greens. Club branded clothing is available for purchase and must be worn for play representing our club.
