Paraparaumu Junior Rugby Code of Conduct 


Each player who registers with Paraparaumu Junior Rugby Club (PJRC) is expected to adhere to the Players Code of Conduct.  And the parents/caregivers of our registered players are to adhere to PJRC’s Parents/Supporters Code of Conduct.

By submitting a PJRC registration form, you are hereby agreeing to both forms of the PJRC Code of Conduct.  The respective PJRC Code of Conducts are:


Players Code of Conduct

When playing for the Paraparaumu Junior Rugby Club (PJRC), I will:

  • Play to the best of my ability.
  • Play fairly.
  • Exhibit sportsmanship that I would expect in return from my opposition.
  • Respect my team mates, my coach/manager, match official/s and opposition.
  • Play within the laws of Rugby appropriate to my grade, and as directed by match official/s.
  • Shake hands with the opposition and match official/s at the conclusion of the game.
  • Seek and speak to someone I trust, should I feel unhappy in Rugby and explain why.

I  understand that if I do not follow this code, any or all of the following actions may be taken by the PJRC:

  • Be required to apologise to my team mates, my coach/manager, match official/s or opposition.
  • Be substituted or removed from the field of play.
  • Be suspended from team training/s or game/s.
  • Receive a formal warning from my coach or the PJRC Committee.
  • Be asked to leave and/or be banned from the PJRC.


Parents/Spectators Code of Conduct

When supporting players/teams who are playing for and against PJRC teams, parents/spectators are expected:

  • To remember that junior Rugby is played for FUN.
  • To always respect the match official/s and their decisions.
  • To encourage players to respect the opposition and match official/s.
  • To remain outside the field of play.
  • To allow team coaches/managers do their role.  And not confuse players by advising them to train, play or behave outside their coaches/managers expectations.
  • To avoid for criticising any player or match official/s for making a mistake.
  • To never engage in, tolerate or exhibit offensive, insulting or abusive behaviour.

I  understand that if I do not follow this code, any or all of the following actions may be taken by the PJRC:

  • Issued with a verbal warning from the PJRC.
  • Required to meet with the PJRC Committee.
  • Requested by the PJRC, not to attend future games.
  • May be trespassed from grounds involving PJRC teams.
  • Be asked to leave and/or be banned from the PJRC, along with any dependants.
