Trials:

Players wishing to play in our Year 7 to Senior teams may be required to trial once registrations are known. If these are required these will be communicated to teams prior to the commencement of training.

Uniforms

All NEW Junior and U14-U17 players will receive a new playing shirt. Any returning players who require the next size playing top can purchase these at $50 (child) or $55 (adult). We encourage you to sell your existing top second hand as players are always on the lookout!

All Senior teams, U21 and upwards will recieve club kit that requires returning at the end of the season.

The club provides playing skirts that are returned at the end of the season.

Optional extras to purchase include a PUSC Hooded Jersey - the teams do look great in these!

Uniforms will be available for collection/purchase from the Parklands United Sports Club club rooms, 75 Queenspark Drive (opposite Subway) in March/April.  I will let you know the dates for this when they have been confirmed.

A few notes from Christchurch Netball on uniforms...

We ask that players ensure their finger nails are clipped before they get to the court on a Saturday, they have their hair tied up so it is out of their face and no beads in their hair, NO EARRINGS - NOT EVEN TAPED, and they are wearing the correct uniform. Future Ferns, School Yrs 3 - 6 can wear black long sleeve tops and black full length leggings under their playing uniform. No other age groups.

Training

Most teams train once a week at the Queenspark School courts.  Your coach will let you know the day and time for your team’s training.  We ask that players and their families support your coaches in any way you can, the coaches spend a lot of their own time preparing training, making sure all the players get their fair share of time on the court, learning drills and ways to make training more fun, and much more.

Please make sure your child attends practice even if it is cold, netball is a winter game and they will be playing in the cold so need to practise in the cold also. Make sure your child is at the game in time to warm up with the team at the time their coach has asked them to be there. If your child is unable to make a game or practice, give the coach as much notice as possible as this can change the whole practice the coach has planned if one person is missing.

Umpiring

Up to & including Yr6 - It is encouraged that a willing parent steps up to act as the umpire to allow the coach to focus on the game. Free training sessions and information are supplied by CNC, additional training course fees will be covered by Parklands United Sports Club as required.

Year 7 upwards CNC provided whistlers/umpires may be provided should numbers allow - Parklands United supports any players, parents or siblings to register as part of the whistler / umpire training programmes offered by Christchurch Netball.

If available, there are a number of club umpires - weekly fees of ~$15-25 (dependent upon age group) are paid directly by the team on game day. On days a Christchurch Netball or Parklands United club umpire cannot make the game either the coach or a parent is expected to umpire the game.

Enquiries and questions welcome - please contact me on the email below.

I am looking forward to seeing you all throughout the season.
