ABOUT QJBC

QJBC is a volunteer-run organisation providing a structured yet social basketball experience for children and young people. We value fairness, participation and the positive impact sport has on our community. Our goal is to create a basketball experience that is fun, inclusive and enriching for every player.

Our core values:

  • Commitment – We rely on dedicated volunteers to keep the club running smoothly.

  • Integrity – Fairness and transparency are at the heart of what we do.

  • Inclusivity – Every child, regardless of skill level, is welcome to participate and grow in their abilities.

  • Teamwork – Collaboration between players, coaches and volunteers ensures a great experience for all.

  • Enjoyment – Basketball should be fun, both for players and those involved in running the club.

Volunteer experience: Being a volunteer with QJBC is a rewarding opportunity to give back to the community while fostering the love of basketball in young players. Whether you're a parent, former player, or simply passionate about the game, we invite you to join us. Roles include coaching, refereeing, team management, committee participation and general support. We also have a number of Youth training opportunities, to encourage young people to learn to coach and referee. Find out more about volunteering here.

As QJBC is a social basketball organisation, emphasis is on the participation pathway where enjoyment, fairness and participation are priority. If you are interested in development and competition pathways, there are other organisations in the region that offer this:
