Welcome, Kia Ora
Racewalking Auckland (RWA) aims to promote the sport of racewalking in the greater Auckland area. Join us for competition, for fitness, health and fun.
Our membership includes NZ Olympic and Commonwealth Games representative Alana Barber (Silver Medallist, 2018 Commonwealth Games), and Alana Mathews, 2026 NZ 3,000m Race Walk National Champion — alongside walkers of every level, from competitive A-graders to those just starting out. From this site you can find information about racewalking, get in touch with the committee, and pick up the latest news from Auckland and further afield.
Through Racewalking Auckland you can learn the basics at our regular Sunday morning events, held at 8:30am. We rotate across venues right across Auckland — Auckland Domain, Pakuranga, Mangere Bridge, Victoria Park, Botanical Gardens Manurewa, and the Southern Path at Karaka — so wherever you are in the city, there's a session within reach.
RWA has a WARECS-accredited walks judge and a Level 3 walks judge among its membership, supporting the sport's officiating standards across the region.
So please come along and try us out. We're a friendly bunch and welcome new and former members of every age, any time.
