JUNIOR GYM - for 5 to 6 years old 

Our Junior Gymnastics programme is designed to develop strength, co-ordination and confidence through fundamental gymnastics skills and movements. Gymnasts work their way through our Skills Award Programme(SAP) as they gain new skills and competencies.

The class starts with a group warm up on the floor (with Parents if needed), then fun gymnastics-based circuits including skill of the week and group activity.

SENIOR GYM - for 7 years and over

Our Senior Gymnastics class focuses on working through our Skills Award Programme(SAP) from the basic to advance skill were they can work to there past to develop strength, co-ordination and confidence through their gymnastics skills.

The class starts with a group warm up on the floor, then gymnastics-based circuits including skill of the week and group activity at the end of session.


TUMBLING and more

This class focuses on providing gymnasts with the skills necessary to become good tumblers. Beginner tumbling will work on strengthening handstands, cartwheels, bridges, and rolls, as well as basic drills for round offs, and walkovers.Tumbling is a form of gymnastics performed without props or equipment, also referred to as floor gymnastics. Common moves performed in tumbling include flips, somersaults, tucks, handstands and handsprings. Other equipment such as beam or bar is sometimes used as an addition to tumbling.

RECREATIONAL(REC) COMPETITIVE - 5 years and over

ADVANCE RECREATIONAL(REC) COMPETITIVE 

The Recreational Competitive programme provides an opportunity for gymnasts who are ready to work on routines for inter club and regional competitions. This class is best suited for gymnasts who wish to experience the challenges and excitement that competitions provide without the intensity of training that the national competition structure requires. This class is best suited for gymnasts who enjoy a more social training atmosphere while training to achieve competition skills and routines.

REC COMPETITIVE levels are KIWI FUN, GRADE 1, GRADE 2, IRON, BRONZE, SILVER, GOLD, ELITE

Gymnasts will need to achieve minimum Level 5 in Skills Programme. ​​​​​​​

Assistance with putting away the gear would be a greatly appreciated at the completion of the nights classes .Thank you in advance for this. ​​​​​​​

  • You need to re-enrol your child each term
  • We recommend you re-enrol promptly as spaces fill up fast​​​​​​​

WHAT TO WEAR

  • T-shirt and shorts
  • Nice comfortable loose-fitting clothing
  • Leotards are optional

FOR SAFETY WE ASK THAT:

  • Hair must be tied back.
  • No jewellery, belts, dresses, skirts, stocking socks or crop tops

WHAT TO BRING

  • Drink bottle (with water)

Motueka Classes: Participants and gymnasts ONLY within the stadium please.

  • Parents and siblings are invited to view (exept COVID 19 rules Level 2) the activity and classes, however in the interests of safety and concerntration children will not be permitted to run around and play within the stadium whilst classes are in action.

     PARENTS CODE OF CONDUCT

  • Parents must ensure their child is fit to partake in gymnastics activity.
  • Do not force an unwilling child to participate in sports
  • Parents must bring their child/children into the gym and come into the gym to collect them at the end of the class.
  • It is the responsibility of the parent to look after their child until the class commences and then immediately following the end of the class.
  • Teach your child that honest effort is as important as victory so that results are accepted without undue disappointment
  • Encourage your child to always listen to the coaches
  • Parents are to ensure their child is appropriately dressed for their class
  • Parents are expected to ensure payments of training fees are paid on time
  • For health and safety reasons parents are not at any time allowed on the floor(except for preschool classes).
  • Recognise the value and importance of coaches
  • While in the gymnasium every effort will be made to ensure the safety of all class members. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure their safety while in the waiting area.
  • Parents/guardians are kindly requested to make sure that children do not bring items of value such as watches with them.
  • Parents should promote good sportsmanship at all times.
  • Remember children are involved for their enjoyment not yours
  • Remember that children learn best by example
