WHY KIDS SHOULD DO GYMNASTICS

  1. No other sport includes all 7 fundamental movement patterns, (spring, landing, locomotion, rotation, statics, swing and manipulative skills).
  2. Weight bearing sports increase bone density, stronger bones reduce the risk of injury and osteoporosis later on in life.
  3. Improves posture.
  4. Gymnastics burns calories and works all of your muscles.
  5. Improves balance
  6.  Develops coordination by crossing mid-lines.
  7.  It improves strength & flexibility
  8.  Increase self-esteem, by using positive feedback and encouraging ideas to improve
  9. Make new friends
  10. We develop skills which will help in all other sports.
  11. It's great fun

RBGC Update

Committee Meeting held 21st June 2020

As you may know Toria and Marcela have resigned from position Treasurer and Secretary due to other commitments.  Apart from those positions they were also involved in improving administration, designing our Club website, helping Steph with Skill Award Programme, organising competition leotards, advertising, running events such as Prizegiving, Open Day, Santa Parade.  They helped to look after the equipment and trailer repairs and the list goes on and on.

We would like to thank them both so much for all their hard work and hours that they donated to the Club.  We wish you all the best in your future exploits.

EXCITING NEWS

OUR NEW COMMITTEE

President;

Vicki Karetai is staying in her position of President.  She has been supporting the club for a number of years and we are very happy that she is staying on as President.

Operations Manager;

We would like to welcome Kirsty McKenzie as our new operations manager.  Kirsty has been involved with gymnastics for a number of years in our community and we welcome her knowledge and support she brings to the club.

General Members;

Rachel Gordon is a very valuable new general member of our new committee.  Rachel is a two time senior artistic national champ from Nelson.  Following injury she coached and judged at Nelson Gymnastics before moving to Wellington to pursue an undergrad and coached at Rimutaka Gymsports.  Rachel has a passion for education and community collaboration so has joined our committee in the hopes of developing widespread fundamental movement programs.

Toria Cameron-Imer is staying on as a general member.

Marcela Blomfield is still part of the committee to help with a smooth transfer of information for Kirsty McKenzie.

Beth Spencer is also a general member with currently 3 (hopefully 4) children enjoying our gymnastics program.
