Agriculture and horticulture class trip to Straight 8 Estate winery

Our year 11 agriculture/horticulture class visited Straight 8 Estate winery where they had a tour of the vines and shop. Students learnt about the history of the vines and the way they grow including the different pruning and growing techniques. They also learnt the ways the grapes are harvested and then pressed to make the wines they sell through the cellar door.

Year 12 mock interviews

Our annual year 12 mock interview morning was a huge success. The learners came in nervous and unsure and left feeling more confident and with some great feedback to help them develop their skills for their next interviews. We are incredibly grateful to the local employers that came in and gave their time to work with our learners and help develop their employability skills.

Tertiary pathways year 13 whānau evening

Whānau of year 13 learners are invited to attend a presentation explaining studying at tertiary level (university, polytechnic), including applications, accommodation, health tips, scholarships, student loans and allowances, plus a Q&A.
