It has been an incredibly busy and productive fortnight for our senior students as we edge closer to the end of the term. From tertiary pathway presentations to critical life-skills workshops, our year 12 and 13 learners have been highly engaged.
Here is a breakdown of what has been happening over weeks 9 and 10.
Our year 12 students took a look into their potential futures with a compulsory UC (University of Canterbury) Presentation held in the gym. Learners gathered in their whΔnau groups to hear about the options and pathways available to them for next year and beyond.
Finding a balance between academic and personal life is tough, which is why students participated in targeted time management sessions.
The tertiary focus continued this week with two major events:
Learners participated in an Advisory lesson titled "Ko Wai Au? (Who Am I?)", which focused on evaluating and celebrating diversity and inclusivity within our kura/school. Learners participated in interactive group activities designed to promote a supportive environment for everyone.
With assessments piling up, our Ready to Achieve (R2A) session focused heavily on wellbeing. Learners were guided through strategies for managing exam stress and were provided with anExam Stress Toolkit template to help them organise their study habits and protect their mental health during high-pressure periods.
