In year 13 and unsure about heading straight into tertiary study? Looking for something a little out of the ordinary? Are you interested in taking a gap year but don't know where to start?
AFS Intercultural Programmes offers structured community service programmes (for 18+) that are designed for school leavers looking to gain independence, build global experience, and make a hands-on impact through volunteering:
Brazil (4 weeks): A short-term volunteer project supporting local social or environmental causes while staying with a host family (Aug – Sep 2027).
Costa Rica (3 months): A structured placement with non-profit organisations in areas like conservation, youth development, or education, including a 60-hour Spanish language course (Aug – Nov 2027).
Check out the flyers below.
AFS provides host family placements, full intercultural support, and a safe, structured environment for personal growth before university, entering the workforce, or traveling the world.
We strongly encourage interested year 13 students to express interest and sign up via the enquiry form before the end of this school year to secure their spots and complete initial onboarding before final exams finish.
