GAME COMPLAINTS & APPEALS PROCEDURE
The Appeals Committee comprising 2 members of the current Management Committee, who shall have no affiliation to any team/school involved in the complaint, will have authority to investigate alleged misconduct arising in any match at the SISS Junior tournament in the following circumstances:
- Where a player is ordered off the playing court (but not pursuant to a suspension for a specified period ordered by an Umpire).
- Where a complaint is lodged by a third party in respect of the conduct of a player in a match referred to above.
- Where a complaint is received alleging serious misconduct (as set out below) in respect of any match referred to above.
- Intentional tripping, stamping, trampling, striking, punching or kicking an opponent
- Other forms of manhandling including fighting
- Offences involving Umpires, opposing team members, or game officials (team management) including threatening conduct, verbal abuse, assault of any kind, physical assault
- Bringing the game of netball into disrepute and/or engaging in conduct unbecoming to the game of netball.
The complaint shall be made in writing and submitted to the Tournament Manager within 1 hour of the completion of the game and shall set out:
- The date of match, the names of teams participating, court number game held on
- The name of the player(s) and the team they are involved in.
- The circumstances in which the player/s were ordered off (if appropriate)
- The reason for the player(s) reprimanded
- Any other information considered material.
The Appeals Committee will decide on the complaint as soon as practicable.
The player(s) involved in any incident may be stood down from playing any further matches until such time as a decision is made regarding the complaint.
The teams involved will be notified immediately once the Appeals Commitee decision has been confirmed.
The decision of the Appeals Committee is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
