Women across Christchurch with an interest in wellbeing will benefit from a visionary partnership that prescribes a holistic approach and simple steps to setting goals.
In 2019, Craigs Investment Partners teamed up with the Regional Sports Trust for the Canterbury West Coast region, providing sponsorship for their annual “Sportswoman of the Year” honour.
“At that time, we were actively looking for further ways to give back to the community that supports us,” says Sara O’Connor from Craigs Investment Partners. “As a team, we are very motivated by the success of Canterbury women, often against all odds, on the world stage. As a team of female financial advisors, we identify with their resolve and resilience.”
O’Connor says she recognised a common thread, given the role Sport Canterbury plays at the community level, advocating for the value of sport and being active.
“Whether health or wealth, women can look after themselves through education and goal-setting. Both Sport Canterbury and Craigs Investment Partners are champions for women’s wellbeing, and provide practical support for women at all stages of life.”
Abby Wilson is Sport Canterbury’s Green Prescription Team Leader, with a wealth of knowledge in nutrition, motivation and goal-setting. Through the Green Prescription service, she works with health professionals as well as patients, who are either new to or returning to physical activity.
“We love the approach Craigs Investment Partners takes to financial wellbeing.
“Their clients are open-minded and eager to learn, to grow and protect their future. The service we offer is much the same – it’s about education, self-awareness and making sustainable changes.”
On Tuesday 25 February, Wilson was invited to feature as guest speaker for a Craigs workshop on Health and Wealth, hosted by the Christchurch office.
Joyce, a West Melton local and a regular attendee at the seminars said her motivation for attending these events is, "To meet other ladies who are similar to me, that are driven and have the same aspirations. I'm really into sport and it has always played a big role in my life so when I heard Abby was presenting I was very keen to head along."
