Calder Stewart are proud to have their name supporting the next generation of Southland athletes.

Calder Stewart is a sponsor of Academy Southland and the Mike Piper Training Centre, both of which reside inside the SIT Velodrome.

“We built this velodrome and we are very proud of what we achieved here, and what we’ve been able to create for the community,”  Calder Stewart construction manager Lindsay Bowmar said.

“We are very supportive of the communities where we operate and sport is an important part of those communities. We think our relationship with the Academy is a good fit and we like that they are about Southlanders doing great things.”

The Mike Piper Training Centre, named after one of Southland’s most highly-regarded sports administrators, was opened in 2017 and offers strength and conditioning, mental skills and nutrition support for individuals and teams from a range of sports.

Academy Southland manager Jason McKenzie was pleased to have Calder Stewart amongst a loyal family of sponsors.

“Calder Stewart build great buildings and we are building great athletes who will also be great people as they go forward and represent Southland and New Zealand on the world stage,” he said.
