The Stoke Bowling Club is a member of Clubs New Zealand.

Members of Stoke Bowling Club have reciprocal rights with other clubs that are members of Clubs New Zealand.

Clubs New Zealand (CNZ) is the leading association for clubs in New Zealand.  It is a member led, not-for-profit organisation and represent more than 300 clubs around the country including chartered clubs, community clubs, cosmopolitan clubs, workingmen's clubs, sports clubs and RSAs.

More than 280,000 people belong to our member clubs.

CNZ is tasked with enhancing and promoting all aspects of club business.  It celebrate the uniqueness of each of the member clubs and has developed a wide range of services and benefits to ensure that each club can continue to operate for the betterment of their communities.

CNZ Mission

The Mission of CNZ is to promote and safeguard the interests, rights and privileges of member clubs.

CNZ Focus

CNZ supports member clubs through guidance and education to help generate benefits and services to assist them in becoming successful commercial businesses.

They work to develop the club community through sports tournaments, conferences, area meetings and other activities.  As well, they seek to represent member's interests at national and local government level.

CNZ share and communicate the community good derived from clubs and club members which has evolved over time to become a critical contributor to many communities' health and wellbeing.

CNZ has a rich heritage of providing hospitality to members for over 120 years, with a network of clubs stretching from Kaitaia to Bluff.

CNZ celebrate's the achievements and uniqueness of its members while uniting the network of clubs through technology, so that they may share and leverage off each other's success.

Member Benefits

CNZ provide support and advocacy for clubs throughout New Zealand. Here are some of the benefits of Clubs New Zealand membership:

Advocacy and Representation:  represent our members in national and local government, advocating for policies that benefit clubs and their members. CNZ also provide support and advice to clubs facing regulatory or legal issues.

Networking and Collaboration:  provide opportunities for clubs to network and collaborate with other clubs across New Zealand. This allows us to share best practices, learn from one another, and develop relationships with other clubs within our region and beyond.

Training and Education:  offer training and educational opportunities for club officers and staff. This includes training in areas such as hospitality, customer service, and compliance with laws and regulations.

Insurance:  offers a range of insurance options to our members, including public liability insurance, employers' liability insurance, and property insurance.

Marketing and Promotions:  provide marketing and promotional support, helping us to reach new members and promote our facilities and events.

Access to Resources:  provide access to a range of resources, including templates for policies and procedures, advice on best practices, and assistance with compliance and regulatory issues.

Events and Competitions:  organise a range of events and competitions for our members. These events provide opportunities for clubs to engage with their members and the wider community.



The Clubs NZ South Island Men's Bowls Tournament is set to be held at the Stoke Bowling Club on 10-11 January 2026.
