TAKAKA ATHLETICS CODE OF CONDUCT

Parent Involvement

Takaka Athletics is run by a team of volunteers and cannot operate without the help of parents. The Committee are all parents/ volunteers who are there because we want to see children enjoying athletics. All parents/caregivers are expected to assist on club nights and at interclub events. We want the club to be a success and we appreciate your help and support with this. We encourage participation by athletes of all abilities and focus on achieving personal bests.

Supervision

Athletes must be under the supervision of a parent/caregiver at all times. All parents/caregivers, please be aware that we do not continually take a roll call throughout the night, so if your children were to leave the grounds or be dropped off but not turn up, we would have no idea of their whereabouts. We do not supervise children at the conclusion of club night. Takaka Athletics accepts no responsibility for unsupervised children.

Behavior

The purpose of the club night is to provide a friendly environment for coaching and training. Bullying in any form is not accepted. Athletes must listen, carry out instructions and be respectful toward coaches & volunteers. We expect fair play to other athletes at all times! Athletes must not act in a manner that is dangerous to those around them or that brings the club into disrepute. If children misbehave they will be warned, repeated bad behavior could end with your child being suspended from athletics.

Safety

Takaka Athletics does not accept responsibility for any accident, injuries sustained, loss or damage to person or property.

Personal Gear

Mobile phones must be left in their bags by the desk. Athletes should be ready to begin training wearing appropriate clothing for training 10 minutes prior to scheduled start.

Equipment

All equipment must be used in the correct manner, especially the Shot Puts and Discus. Parental supervision of both Shot Put & Discus is needed at all times. Caregivers will be asked to cover the cost of replacing club uniform or equipment if damaged or lost.
