MR WHIPPY TAUPO 5K SERIES

Fortnightly on a Wednesday from late January to late March. Catering for runners, walkers and children with a special Kids Dash (1500m) for children starting out in running.

DATES FOR 2026:
January 28
February 11 & 25
March 11
March 25 - Prizegiving/Charity NIght

VENUE:
Waharewaka Point.

START:
6.00pm start Mass start with walkers behind runners.
6.05pm Kids Dash.

Start and finish at Wharewaka Point.

ENTRY FEES:
5k per night: $5 per race 
5k series entry: $20 (28 Jan to 11 Mar only)
Kids Dash (1500m): $2.00

Family Discount: Parents enter 5k, kids 5k entry half price.

Series Entry: - Enter the series with one entry form, collect your number from the board on the following nights.

REGISTRATION:
5.30pm at the Harrier's caravan.

AGE RESTRICTIONS:
5k - Intermediate school children and above (Years 7 & 8).
Kids Dash - Primary or Intermediacte school children (up to Year 8).

NB: Children under 11yrs MUST have an adult BESIDE them if entering the 5k.

COURSES;
5k: Out and back loop along the Great Lake Pathway / Lions Walk to 2 Mile Bay.
Kids Dash: 2 laps around Wharewaka Point (1500m).

Please beware of other pathway users - bikes, people and dogs.

SERIES POINTS/PLACING:
To qualiify for series points/placings any three of the first four races must be completed.  Placings calculated on your best three results.

FINAL NIGHT - PRIZEGIVING:
Fun night
Prizegiving held at the caravan at 7.15pm.

Entry by donation ($$$) to our choosen charity.
