BUTTONS

Navigating your site is made easy with the use of buttons. Learn how buttons can be designed to fit with your brand guidelines to enhance the look of your website, and how to streamline this process by setting a global default button.

How to use the Button widget effectively

The button widget is fully customisable and can be used throughout your website to improve aesthetic and functionality.

BUTTON TEXT
Keep your text (CTA) minimal e.g. "REGISTRATIONS" rather than a long sentence. This allows for a more balanced aesthetic.

BUTTON COLOUR / BORDER COLOUR
Use your guidelines colours - if you don't have any, either use a colour that is in your logo or a dominating colour in your organisation.

BUTTON HEIGHT
Buttons can be set to a custom height. Select an appropriate height that pairs with the font size to create a balanced button.

BUTTON WIDTH
A button's width is important to keep in mind as it will affect how it displays on different devices. The default width of 100% will display the full width of the widget container - even on mobile. Lowering this percentage will give the button room to breathe on either side.

How to change the Default Button Settings

To set the default settings for the button widget, navigate to the Buttons pop-up - found in Site Settings. Change the settings to the design that you wish, then click Save.

Now whenever the Button widget is added to your site it will have these settings by default.
