Looking after our Tamariki

At Wairoa College, our pastoral system is overseen by a dedicated leadership team committed to supporting the health and wellbeing, academic achievement, behaviour, and attendance of your tamariki throughout their journey at our school.

Our Principal, Joanne Vennell, leads this team, supported by our Deputy Principal, Paul Westwood, and Assistant Principals, Kimberley Mahy , Noeline Terere, and Reginald Keil. Together, they work to ensure every student is nurtured and guided to reach their full potential.

Each year level has a Dean:

Each year level has 4 whanau teachers:

Within each year level there are 4 whanau teachers, each representing one of the 4 houses: Manu, Patu, Te Toki, Nga taiaha. Whanau teachers are your first contact if you are concerned or worried about anything to do with your tamariki.
