To continue developing the player's ball skills, focus on improving passing accuracy and passing to open spaces. To provide the players with the opportunity to create balanced through-court attack play from throw-ins.

An unlimited number of rolling substitutions per team per quarter is allowed.
A rolling substitute may enter the game while play is in progress.
Players must not interfere with the umpire’s movement during the substitution.
Players must observe the offside rules as they enter/leave the court.
Play is not to be held up for rolling substitutions.
Week 7
1st June to 7th June
Our focus this week is 'Specialist Skills':
To provide the players with the opportunity to practise specialist skills – shooting technique, and defence of the shot. To introduce the use of triangles when feeding the shooters.

We have a week off from Saturday netball this weekend, which is a great time to take some time to go over your team's core values. Read the information below and try it at your training.
To provide players with the opportunity to practise intercepting, reading the cues and developing the necessary timing required to take the intercept. To develop the ability to intercept the pass, landing in an SBP to deliver a successful pass. To develop team cohesion and the ability to work together on through-court defence.

A toss-up was previously used if an infringement occurred simultaneously. However, due to improved umpire education and training, the use of toss-ups has become much less frequent, and umpires are instead correctly penalising the infringement that occurred first. This means that the skill of the toss-up has been lost for both players and umpires.

To develop awareness of the phases of defence and focus on contesting the ball (1st phase). To develop the confidence and ability to defend the centre pass in a one-on-one situation.

A key principle of netball is equal contest and the ability of players to compete fairly for playing position and possession of the ball. The contact rule deals with situations where players use physical contact improperly to stop this from happening.

To use a dodge in a restricted area to displace the defender, driving forward into the free space to receive the ball. To assist players to understand the game principles relating to circle communication and feeding the goal circle.

Team captains use either Paper, Scissors, Rock or a coin toss to determine who takes the first pass. The umpire shall blow the whistle to start and restart play after every goal is scored and after each interval. Centre passes are taken alternately throughout the game by the two centre players.
Week 3
4th May to 10th May
Our focus this week is 'Movement Skills':
To develop the ability to receive the ball and turn fully to allow the player with the ball to sight all passing options as quickly as possible, and to introduce the concepts of court balance required in through-court attacking play.

For safety, no jewellery is to be worn during netball, at any level, at any age. This includes earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and rings. Remind your players that all jewellery is removed before arriving.
To develop a variety of passing options and an awareness of which passes are appropriate in different situations. To introduce the principles of centre pass - attack, developing decision-making, and building teamwork and confidence.
