Code of Conduct for Players and Parents:

PLAYERS’ CODE OF BEHAVIOUR

• Play for fun and enjoyment of Netball.

• Treat all players as you would like to be treated.

• Do not bully or take unfair advantage of another player.

• Control your temper. Verbal abuse or deliberate contact and abusive behaviour is unacceptable.

• Play according to the rules of Netball and the principles of fair play.

• Play equally hard for yourself and your team. Your team's performance will benefit and so will you.

• Be a good sport, cheer all good play from your team and the opposition.

• Appreciate and co-operate with your coach, team-mates and officials; there would be no gamewithout them.

• Take responsibility for your performance on and off the court.

• Bring a positive sporting attitude to each practice and game.

PARENTS’ CODE OF BEHAVIOUR

• If children are interested, encourage and support them to play.

• If you disagree with an official, raise the issue via appropriate channels rather than question theofficial's judgment and honesty in public.

• Recognise and value the importance of coaches and other volunteers, who give their time andresources to provide Netball; they deserve support.

• Teach children that effort is as important as victory, so that the result of each game is acceptedwithout undue disappointment.

• Encourage children to play to the rules and respect umpires' decisions.

• Support the removal of verbal and physical abuse from the game.

• Lead by example.

• Children learn by taking risks and making mistakes; encourage and support this.

• Applaud good play by players on both teams.

• Avoid forcing children to play if reluctant.

Our structure is built on the Netball New Zealand philosophy “Junior Netball is aimed at ensuring young participants having fun, learning skills and developing a lifelong love of the game”.

All games to be on Saturday at the Queenstown Events Centre with the exception of Year 6 to 8 Festival Day on Sunday 7 July.
