Players Code of Conduct

This document is for the benefit of all players who wish to be part of the West Melton Netball Club.  Its purpose is to ensure all members are aware of their responsibility towards their fellow club and team members and realise the values and rules that are agreed upon are for the good of all.

At registration all players will be asked to sign that they have read, understood and agree to this Code of Conduct form.  For players under the age of 16 we will ask that a parent, guardian or caregiver sign as well.

Purpose:
Play equally hard for yourself and your team.  Your team's performance will benefit and so will you:

  • Treat players as you would like to be treated
  • Do not bully or take unfair advantage of another player
  • Control your temper, any verbal abuse or deliberate contact.  Abusive behaviour is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
  • Play according to the rules of netball and the principals of fair-play.
  • Never argue with an umpire.  Their decisions are final.  If you have any concerns about an umpire talk to your coach and follow the correct procedure.
  • Be a good sport, cheer all good play from both your team and the opposition.
  • Appreciate and co-operate with your coach, team mates and officials.  There would be not game without them.
  • Take responsibility for your performance on and off the court.
  • Do not interfere with the progress and/or conduct of the game.
  • Honesty and co-operation of all team members.
  • To care for their uniform and return at the end of the season clean in the good condition you received it.
  • Assist in fundraising, shop duty and umpiring.
  • If you are injured during the season or away for an extended period then you agree this will affect your selection and position on court during competition games.


Practice:
For practices you are expected to:

  • Attend practices and games and be on time.
  • Advise your coach if you won't be at practice or game in a timely manner.
  • Repect and listen to your coach and fully participate in all practices.


If you have any queries or problems these should be rasied with your coach at practices.  If you feel you cannot raise your queries or problems with your coach you can contact your team captain or a member of the Committee.
