Mo Tatau/About us

Nau mai, haere mai ki te hapori Poitarawhiti o Whakatane

Netball Whakatane Centre for 50+ years and since 2003 has been located at the Nita Shannon Netball Complex at Eve Rimmer Park, Cutler Crescent, Whakatane.

Grassroots netball is provided to 1100+ members from ANZfutureFERNS Year 1-6, primary school age through to adults. In season over 100 games of netball are played over 3 days each week on 10 courts.  Other netball programmes are delivered to the community in the form of Skill Sessions, Development Camps, and Coach and Umpire education.

There are opportunities and programmes for players, coaches, managers, umpires, officials and volunteers to grow and develop in both social and competitive environments.

In 2020, 7 Umpires passed their New Zealand Theory Exam, so we are very proud to have this number of high calibre umpires.

Management and administration are provided by our Centre Manager supported by the Committee and approximately 20 volunteers. Storm Hale is the President of the Netball Centre.

Netball Whakatane Centre is affiliated with Netball New Zealand and is part of the Waikato Bay of Plenty Zone

We look forward to providing you with an enjoyable and active competition no matter what level you are either players, officials and spectators alike.
