Yr 5&6 Competition Overview

On a Wednesday night the complex is a buzz of activity as over 500 Yr 1 - 6 children from 22 schools from Invercargill and Western Southland come together for a night of fun on the turf.

Yr 5 & 6 play 6 aside, 20-minute playing halves on a half turf

Goalies are NOT required, but if a team chooses to have a fully kitted Goalie this player can be included as a 7th player in their team

Cancellations

Should the competition be cancelled due to weather your School TIC will be contacted and a post will be placed on the IHA Facebook page by 2pm.

Mouth Guard/Shin Pads

It is compulsory to wear mouth guards and shin pads by all players.  

Umpires

Where possible junior developing umpires will be supplied for all games, however coaches may be required to umpire their own games from time to time.

Spectator Behaviour

This is not the Olympics. 

This competition is about developing the players and encouraging their love of the game.

As a right of entry spectators are expected to respect the coaches, managers, umpires and players and to be encouraging and positive.

The competition director reserves the right to remove from the grounds any spectator who does not comply with the Code of Conduct.
