Small Sticks In-School Programme

In 2012 Hockey New Zealand rolled out Small Sticks, our nationally branded junior participation programme, the perfect introduction to our fast and fun game. 

Small Sticks is a fun in-school hockey programme for kids aged between 4 and 13. It teaches basic movement skills and introduces the game of hockey as a fun and exciting sport to play and learn.

Small Sticks in Schools is a 3yr partnership between Invercargill Hockey Association and the school. 

Schools wil recieve 

• Four coaching sessions per class delivered by an accredited coach
• A teacher in service training session to upskill teachers
• A festival day at the completion of the programme
• A comprehensive equipment kit along with hockey resources for the school to use after the programme is finished
• Marketing material to help engage and inform students and their parents
