Competition Heats at Trent’s Estate

  1. All ponies will be accommodated on the grounds under the direction of the Margaret Welsby, Brenda Cross and their assistants.

  2. Feed/water/supplements will be given under stable manager direction only. Competitors should make no additions to the ponies’ diets. It will be each rider's responsibility to care for the pony. The stable manager will be there to assist. We expect that you will care for the ponies in the same way that you care for your own, that paddocks/yards will be kept clean, and that ponies will be hosed off and wrapped if needed. This information will be available in your information pack.

  3. Supplies, such as buckets, forks, and grooming tools, will be supplied to each team.

  4. Ponies will be paddocked at Trents Estate from the Sunday before the competition until the end of the competition.

  5. Practice schedules will be posted in the info pack, and will be in designated areas at designated times.

  6. Most ponies for this event will be loaned. Teams will be assigned team ponies with comparable amounts of skill, speed, experience and size. We will be using the information you send us on rider size to guide us in pony selection. Every effort will be made to properly match rider size and weight with appropriate-sized ponies. For this reason it is extremely important that you forward your rider selection to us, including weight, height and a full length photograph as soon as possible. We will have to supply up to seven teams with ponies. This would be difficult or impossible to arrange at the last minute as ponies will need to be sourced from all over New Zealand.

  7. Teams may source ponies themselves but the cut-off date for self-sourcing is 15th July 2019. Teams that self-source ponies must inform the Event Secretary of the ponies’ names and owners.

  8. There will be a veterinarian, farrier and first aid on call or on the grounds.

Competition Finals at Ellesmere A & P Show

  1. Ponies will be transported to the competition grounds in groups and tied up at the trucks in team groups wherever possible.

  2. The competition grounds will have a practice area with games equipment.

  3. Stable managers will direct all competitors as to their responsibility towards their ponies.

  4. Stable managers and security will be on site.

  5. There will be a veterinarian and farrier on call or on the grounds

  6. All competitors will be responsible for their own tack, personal gear and belongings between the two venues.
