HOME BASE POLICIES

Registration.

All individuals accessing Home Base must sign in at registration desk before entering the facilities for the first time and sign their acceptance to abide by the policies as specified in this document.

General

All competitors and campers are asked to behave at all times in a manner that is respectful and considerate of other campers and competitors. In order to show consideration to fellow competitors and supporters who may wish to sleep, loud music / partying in the camping areas after 10pm is not permitted.

Organisers reserve the right to eject anyone from the Home Base (Trents Restaurant) who behaves in a manner that is disorderly, disruptive, abusive, inconsiderate or disrespectful.

The Home Base will be shut down at a time deemed necessary by the organisers on competition nights. The teams and support crew will have several early morning starts and long days. Most will need early nights and a good sleep in order to compete at their best.

Injuries and near misses.

All injuries and near misses must be reported to a committee member on the same day they occur and preferably within 2 hours of the event. First Aid officers are available at Home Base. All Injuries and near misses will be logged in the Health and Safety Log Book and reviewed by the committee at our evening meeting.

Covered footwear must be worn around the ponies, stables and wash bay areas at all times.

Ponies.

There is to be no access to ponies, yards and stable areas from 9.30pm each night. This is to ensure ponies are not disrupted unnecessarily.

Alcohol

Under New Zealand Law it is an offence to supply alcohol to anyone under the age of 18 except under the following circumstances: the person supplying the alcohol: a) Is a parent or the legal guardian of the minor AND the alcohol is supplied in a responsible manner; or b) Is a person that has the express consent (written consent) of a parent or legal guardian and the alcohol is supplied in a responsible manner.

Alcohol consumption is not permitted on or around the games field during practices, heats or competitions

Random alcohol testing of riders may be undertaken by the chief referee. A rider under the legal drinking age who tests positive for alcohol is banned from that competition. A rider over the legal drinking age who tests positive for alcohol cannot ride until they test below the legal limit.  This is the same as the driving limits for NZ  https://www.nzta.govt.nz/resources/roadcode/about-limits/alcohol-and-drugs-limits/

Any person who is under the influence of drugs maybe deemed a risk to themselves and others, and asked to leave the site immediately.
