Manukau Indoor Bowling Association Conditions of Play


CHAMPIONSHIP RULES and CONDITIONS OF PLAY

1.  All entries must be in the hands of the Match Committee by the closing date.
2.  All participants must be financial members of the Manukau City Indoor Bowling Association.
3.  All Championships will be played in accordance with the “Laws of the Game” 
4.  CONDITIONS OF PLAY:
 (a) All games shall start and finish with the whistle.
 (b) All score cards shall be filled in correctly, (i.e. signed top and bottom, draw noted accordingly).

 (c) Five points or more or Section Winners qualify for post section.
 (d) A draw remains a draw until post section
 (e) Post section will be played on a sudden death system.
 (f) All conditions of play shall remain the same until the semi-finals (i.e. same number of ends and time limit as section play).
 (g) In post section, if a game is drawn a deciding end to be played.
 (h) Semi-finals and finals shall have an extra ten-(10) minutes allowed.
5. TIME LIMITS/NUMBER OF ENDS: 
FOURS       9 ends or 50 minutes 
TRIPLES    9 ends or 38 minutes 
PAIRS        9 ends or 38 minutes 
SINGLES   9 ends or 27 minutes
6. TEAM COMPOSITION:
 (a) Teams shall comprise financial members of the Manukau City Indoor Bowling Association.
 (b) If a husband and wife are playing at the venue of the Husband and Wife and Mixed Pairs, they must play together in the Husband and Wife Pairs only, unless marital status can        be shown otherwise.
 (c) Mixed Pairs will comprise of one man and one lady.
 (d) Mixed Fours will comprise of two men and two ladies.
 (e) To be eligible to play in the Wes Wyman Interclub, a Club must enter a Team Combination: i.e. two teams each of four players.
Two small clubs may (with Match Convenor approval) enter a mixed Team Combination, and large clubs may enter one or more Team Combinations.
 (f) All Clubs must be financial to the Association in order to start.
7 CLUB AGGREGATE SHIELD – ARNOLD TROPHY.
 
(a) The following events will count towards this trophy:Singles, Pairs, Triples, Fours. H/W Pairs, Mixed Pairs. Mixed Fours, Champ of Champ Singles.
 (b) A Club must enter at least five events to be eligible.
 (c) In all events, two points are awarded for each round progressed in post section play. At the completion of each event, the total points for each Club are divided by the number          of entries for that Club, as set out in the draw. The club with the highest percentage is the winner.
8. INDIVIDUAL AGGREGATE – WILSON CUP
 (a) The following events will count towards this trophySingles, Pairs, Triples, Fours, H/W Pairs, Mixed Pairs, Mixed Fours, Champ of Champ Singles.
 (b) In all events two points are awarded for each round progressed in post section play. The individual with the most points is the winner. In the event of a tie the trophy is shared.
9. JUNIOR AGGREGATE – SCRIVENER TROPHY
 (a) The following events will count towards this trophy:-Singles, Junior Singles, Pairs, Mixed Pairs, Triples, Fours, Mixed Fours, Champ of Champ Singles.
( b) In all events two points are awarded for entry, two points for each win throughout qualifying and one point for each draw.
       A further two points is awarded for each round progressed in post section play. The player with the most points is the winner. In the event of a tie the trophy will be shared.
10. DRESS CODE
 (a) Footwear Soles and heels of footwear shall be of flat, smooth or fine treaded and pliable material that will not carry foreign matter, or cause damage to the mat. –No Jandals/Barefeet
 (b) Clothing shall be tidy. If possible Club Shirts should be worn.
