Netball WBOP Zone Newsletter #3
As we move through another busy period, it's a great opportunity to reflect on the many people who continue to make netball happen in our communities. Thank you (again!) to the committee and board members, staff, volunteers, coaches, umpires, teachers, administrators, managers, supporters, and players for the time, energy and passion you invest in our game.
There has been plenty to celebrate, from working alongside Centres on strategic planning and development, to the many coach and umpire development opportunities delivered across the region, and seeing the positive impact of our NetballSmart injury prevention programmes. We've enjoyed attending local, regional and national tournaments, supporting Positive Vibes Only initiatives that encourage great sideline behaviour, and watching participants connect through junior festival days, competitive and social grades, walking netball pilot programmes, winter season finals, prizegivings, and so much more.
Behind the scenes, our new Board and I continue to work through establishing key governance documents, systems and processes to support the Zone into the future. We are also grateful for the ongoing contribution of the TOA group who continue to provide valuable connection, insight and feedback between Centres and the Zone.
Congratulations to all schools that participated in last week's Upper North Island Secondary Schools (UNISS) Tournament, with a special acknowledgement to those schools that achieved promotion into higher grades and who secured qualification for the New Zealand Secondary Schools Championships in October. We also wish our intermediate and middle school teams all the very best for this week's Zespri AIMS Games in Tauranga.
Thank you to everyone who contributes to netball across our region. Whether your role is large or small, your efforts help create opportunities, experiences and connections for thousands of participants. We appreciate all that you do and look forward to sharing more highlights throughout this newsletter.
