Thursday 30th May 2012

DBC vs. Balclutha last weekend was a great day, but sadly we were outmatched by the other teams. Between our two teams of 8, Balclutha won 18-6 best of 3 sets.

Nevertheless, it was an enjoyable day and we're aiming to have Balclutha to come meet us on home turf before the end of the 2012 winter season!

I have just added a new tab about swipe cards. This is an initiative set up by the OBA to give each club member their own card if they don't already have one. As an affiliated member, you have the benefit of reduced court hire ($10 p/hr). Basically, we've put up the info. about how to load up your cards etc. so please check this out if you're unsure or email us for help!

Wednesday 9th May

Today we confirmed the date for our upcoming tournament with Balclutha as Sunday 27th May.
We are driving to them, so car-pooling is a good option. We're looking for 8 women and 8 men for challenging and competitive games. Financial members only (please contact us if you would like to become a member of DBC and you've stumbled across this page, we are still taking members).
Aiming to play 12noon-4pm.
Going to be a fun day... bring your game faces!

Friday 13th April

Also, fees and regestration forms have been updated for the 2012 season.

WATCH THIS SPACE!!!

By the end of this week, it will have been decided whether or not DBC will continue to run on a Monday night or shift to Tuesdays.

The general feeling is Tuesday night is better for our increased membership base. Sharing the 3rd court with both United and Twenty are an option, but moving to Tuesday guarantees more courts and more games.

Any valid and strong concerns should be brought to the attention of the committee ASAP. Please contact me through either Facebook or email.

The website will be updated as soon as the decision is made. Next week, I will also be updating the membership form and fees as the OBA will having formally announced their affiliation fee.

Thursday, 1st March 2012

Last night we held the DBC Annual General Meeting. It was a productive night, with fees and club night dates decided upon.

So, I am happy to announce DBC club season officially opens on Monday the 19th March.

Fees will be updated on the website shortly, but we are waiting for the OBA to announce their affiliation fee.

I can announce that the DBC subscription fee is $60 ($50 for Jrs). This number has been worked out based on courts, estimate of shuttles needed, cost of lights and how long our season will approximately run for. We have aimed to keep this total as low as possible.

Finally, the OBA are running an EXPO, or
Open Day on Sunday the 25th of March. Anyone interested is welcome! It is being held at the Angus Hall from 1-4pm. Any DBC members with club shirts are encouraged to wear these.

Hopefully see you there!
