The Club was established in 1961 and affiliated with the NZ Contract Bridge Association in the same year.
It purchased its first clubrooms in Cobden Street in 1965
The present building was purchased in 1987
A computerised dealing machine was purchased in 2003 and the bridge pads in 2011 with the support of ECCT.
In 2011 Peter Farley wrote a complete history of the Gisborne Bridge Club. Copies are available to anyone who would like to read this interesting book.
