A player may appeal for a review of any ruling made by the Director at the table, unless it pertains to a disciplinary penalty imposed under Law 91.

Appealing a director's ruling should not be a stressful matter and should not involve any debate or dispute with the director at the table.  A director's decision must be accepted without dissent by all players - a simple statement that an appeal may be laid is sufficient.  Many rules are complex and a session director has a limited time to make a decision - the appeal process allows time for experienced people to consider the issue without time pressures and ensure that a correct decision is made.

All appeals are made through the Director, and must be lodged within 30 minutes of the official end of the session. The Director then refers it to the Appeals Committee.

A player may not appeal if Partner dissents.

Lodgement of Appeal

All appeals must be first given to the Director:
1. On the form provided
2. Not more than thirty minutes after the official end on the session
3. With the consent of both members of the pair appealing. Absent players are deemed to consent.
