DEBATING

HNI offers interested students the opportunity to learn debating skills and for students with debating strengths, earn a place in an HNI Debating team.

HNI Debating teams compete in Radio Kidnappers Talk-The-Talk Intermediate Schools Challenge. The contest, which has been held annually since 2002,  during a 10-week competition, is broadcast live on Radio Kidnappers.

During the competition, teams are given detailed assessments of their efforts during the series and it is pleasing to note the subsequent improvements which many showed as they progressed.

HNI Debating Team ( Imogen Hosford, Emma McLagan, Becs Cadenhead) were Runners Up in 

2018 Talk the Talk  Intermediate Schools Challenge to Sherenden School.
