After the rider has had 3 free weeks of training and racing, it is time to decide whether to join the club.
BMX Membership for BMXNZ and Kāpiti BMX covers the 12 months from 1st January to 31st December.
As members, riders will receive training, racing nights, and a BMXNZ race license.
Be eligible for Kāpiti BMX Club Points Series events, eligible to buy a race shirt, as well as plenty of opportunities to become the best riders they can.
What do you need to do to join our club?
A copy of a birth certificate and/or passport for any new riders.
Have read and agreed to BMXNZ codes of conduct for riders and whanau.
Complete the online application form and pay once it is complete.
Membership fees include the BMX Licence fee + Club Membership fees.
$110 Challenge, Championship and $100 Sprocket
The Club membership fees enable the club to run and maintain the track facilities and our affiliation fee is to BMXNZ.
BMXNZ offers a digital-only race licence to Striders/ Balance Bike riders for $5. This lasts until the rider turns 5, or moves onto a pedal bike (whichever comes first).
Riders aged UCI 4 and below on Strider Bikes are classified as Kiwi Strider Riders. They participate in a modified form of BMX racing and can take part in any club delivered skills based programmes offered by their club.
Riders aged up to and including UCI 7 are classified as Kiwi Sprocket Rocket. Kiwi Sprocket Rockets are permited to enter all BMXNZ sanctioned meetings and they must participate in their appropriate age on the day class.
The Challenge licence is the sport standard for all Challenge 20” and Cruiser classes. This is a full race licence that can be used through out New Zealand to all race meetings. When a rider is eligible to ride UCI 8 years, they will apply for a Challenge licence as at 1 January.
This licence is for riders who wish to compete in Championship classes of Juniors or Elite. These UCI classes are for ages 17-18yr (Jnr) and 19+ (Elite) where riders aim to be the best in the world.
